Trucking Association Donates to Military CLD Program

The West Virginia Trucking Association has donated $1,500 to the Southern West Virginia Community College Foundation to help it develop a Military Commercial Drivers License Program.
The Military CDL program builds upon state Military Connection Network efforts to speed up the CDL qualification and certification process for state National Guard members and reservists.

U.S. 35 to be Finished, Putnam Commissioners Say

Construction on the unfinished section of U.S. 35 in Putnam and Mason counties will start next spring and could be done by 2016, Putnam County commissioners said at a meeting today.
A public-private partnership will provide the money for the project, which would complete the last 14.6 miles of the highway.

Tonight ABC 20/20 will highlight life on the road as a truck driver. According to the producer, the part that ABC filmed with an America’s Road Team Captain (Steve Fields, YRC Freight) and Interstate One, ATA’s Image Truck, will also be included in the piece but has been cut down. That portion should focus on highway safety as the reporter did a ride-a-long and we have been working with the producer on safety tips for the four wheelers. WV State Police Kick Off Seat Belt, Texting Blitz
Law enforcement agencies across West Virginia are watching very closely to see if you're buckled up behind the wheel.
Police across the state are starting the first of four seat-belt enforcement blitzes from Friday through Dec. 1.
WCHS-TV reported that the West Virginia Highway Safety Office and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have provided highway safety funds to conduct three mini "Click it or Ticket" campaigns that go along with the national campaign scheduled every May.
